Money Mindset Steps

1.

Individually, write “my money” in the middle of the page and circle it. Around the circle, write everything you spend money on. Think about both common and uncommon things -- coffee, rent, clothes, ice cream, whatever comes to mind -- write it down.

2.

Draw a solid line to the things that are important or necessary to your life. These are things you highly value and could not live without.

3.

Draw a dotted line to the things that are not as essential to your daily life.

4.

Draw a circle around the 3 – 5 things that you value most on your Money Map. What items are critical to helping you live the life you want to? They can be necessities or things that bring value and joyto your life. (Use the coaching questions to inspire conversation.)

Coaching Questions:

  • What did you observe or notice about your money map?

  • What’s similar about the things you circled? What’s similar about the things with the dotted line?

  • What do you think about the balance? What’s one thing on this map you’d like to prioritize more in your life? What’s one thing you’d like to spend less on in this map?
